Milica Marinković, representing the A 11 Initiative, participated for the fifth consecutive year in the Advocacy Week organized by the Swedish foundation Kvinna till Kvinna.
This event is a week dedicated to advocating for women’s rights and gender equality, bringing together partner organizations from various countries where Kvinna till Kvinna operates.
Throughout the week, participants had the opportunity to connect with representatives of European Union institutions, international organizations, and decision-makers to jointly highlight the challenges women face. Advocacy Week also serves as a platform for strengthening regional and international cooperation among civil society organizations working on women’s rights, peacebuilding initiatives and feminist agendas.
On this occasion, Milica Marinković held meetings with the DG NEAR Serbia Country Team, the European External Action Service (EEAS), and representatives of EU member states at the Swedish Permanent Representation. Additionally, an exchange of views was organized with Members of the European Parliament on the topic “Countering anti-gender and anti-democratic narratives in the Western Balkans”.
As part of the same event, a roundtable was held at the European Endowment for Democracy (EED) on the topic “Countering the Anti-Gender Movement in the Western Balkans”.
Milica Marinković spoke about issues within the scope of A 11 Initiative’s work, focusing on the situation of women facing multiple marginalization, the case of mass violations of labor rights of education workers, as well as individual examples of barriers in accessing economic and social rights.
