Project duration: January 1st, 2024 – May 31th, 2025
The project focuses on the issues brought by the Law on Social Card adopted in 2021 as well as the Social Card Register established afterward. It will explore the social protection system and try to better understand the algorithm, analyze the experiences of countries that have legally tackled the issue of introducing discriminatory technologies and algorithmic decision-making in public services and protected their marginalized citizens against it, and gather a group of professionals from Serbia and the region to exchange knowledge and experiences and strategize the case.
Some of the activities on this project include:
- Fieldwork, interviews, and focus groups with a focus on the social protection system
- The comparative legal analysis aimed at gaining knowledge about the experiences and practices of different countries
- Reverse engineering of the algorithm behind the Social Card Register
- The joint workshop for designing and testing different legal strategies
