The latest episode of the podcast series led by A 11 Initiative about the new Social Card Law and all its devastating effects is available for listening.
In this edition, we delve into the phenomenon of apparent neglect, even so aversion to poverty and the poor in Serbia.
In this episode, we investigate how the poorest live, affected by the implementation of the Social Card Law, which has left them without welfare because of an unknown algorithm within the Social Card information system.
In the first two years of implementing this controversial law, over 44,000 of the poorest citizens lost their aid. This money was, in many cases, the sole source of income for these citizens and their families.
Why does such systemic exclusion of the poor from social protection happen and whom does the system actually protect? Professor Natalija Perišić from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade explains this in the podcast.
Listen to the latest installment of this critically important series, where we’re documenting experiences and practices, ensuring that someday, someone will be held accountable.
Also, check out the previous three episodes, each addressing different aspects of the Social Card Register. There is also considerable techno-fetishism, which posesses an increasing threat to social systems worldwide.
