Improved local integration of internally displaced persons through enhanced access to social rights

Donor: United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

Project duration: January 2022 – December 2022

The goal of the project we are implementing with the support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is to improve the protection and local integration of the most vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) through better access to local integration and social rights (education, health and social protection, housing and employment).

The project includes several key activities:

  • Improving the local integration of at least 500 most vulnerable IDPs, especially displaced Roma, through legal aid and counseling to improve their access to social rights;
  • Representing the most vulnerable IDPs before administrative, judicial and quasi-judicial bodies on issues related to their local integration;
  • Improving the knowledge of paralegals, civil society organizations and law students on mechanisms for local integration of the most vulnerable IDPs;
  • Development of policy recommendations based on the recommendations of the UN treaty bodies and their presentation to all relevant institutions.
